Balloon Glow and Family Reunion

In mid-September I met William at the Balloon Glow in Forest park for a long weekend.
We met under the Energizer Bunny...the most obvious landmark around.

He took pictures of the fire with every single setting on his camera...
The next day was my annual family reunion...where everyone plays volleyball, which I hate.

Ryan and flowers

The first week of September brought my BFF Ryan back for a visit! Haven't seen him in 2 years! So we of course went back to school for a visit while dodging tornadoes on the way...
Side shot of Ryan and the crazy sky on 255....
The theater getting ready to do Alice in Wonderland...
Roger showed us all of the new storage...wish things actually had a place when we were in school!
Later that week I received flowers at work from William in anticipation of our first date that weekend...

Camping and Crockpot Cheesy Chicken and Rice

The night before we left to go camping, my cousins came over to destroy my house and make lots of Jello shots...
And to steal piles of wood from my neighbors...
They were completely packed in back there...we had so much crap.
Our tent set up right next to the Courtois Creek...
We could wade across the creek to get to the buses....
One of the few pics I dared to pull out my camera for...this is nothing compared to all the drunken people we saw...
Next is crockpot cheesy chicken and rice...another one from Pinterest. Throw in four chicken breasts and some diced onions...
I believe this was condensed cheese soup???
 Start cooking some rice...

Pull the chicken apart to shred...
Add the rice and a can of corn...
All done! This was sooo good and so easy, probably the only way I'll make it from now on...need to add some broccoli next time though.

50

In mid-August I finally drew the magic "50" out of my cup of book names, and got started reading this series. If you have not started reading these books yet, or if you are like my insane co-workers who have all stopped at some point in the series...may I ask what the hell is wrong with you?

I'm sure we all know the basic gist of what these books are about, but I will quote my friend Marlene-who upon finishing the series stated, "no other book will ever be as good".
I wasn't planning to read them all in succession, but once I completed the first book, I was bawling my eyes out and pacing back and forth...I went to the cup of books and drew the name of a book about some mundane subject, then threw it back in the cup. I immediately went back to my bed and started book 2...and this was at probably 2 AM. I finished the first book in 5 days.
I was upset about starting book 2 because I was about to go on vacation to a zombie race in the woods...no place to bring such an object so priceless. But, I began the book anyway and then drove off to the zombie race the next day. Luckily I checked into my hotel early, by myself, and waited for my friends to arrive later. I spent that whole Friday afternoon in a Super 8 reading this book...which made me feel like a zombie already. My friends finally showed up, we went out to eat, and I was very anxious to get back to my room to finish the last 2 chapters before going to bed. I finished book 2 in 2 days....
As soon as I got home from the race, I immediately showered off all of the blood and mud and started on book 3...this time I didn't bother even looking in the cup of books. Book 3 was very emotional and I bawled my eyes out through most of it...I took many breaks just because I didn't want it to end. I finished book 3 in 2 days and immediately added E L James on twitter so I would know all the details about the movie being made, as well as any other books she writes. The next day, I went to the cup of books to see what would be next...as I drew "50"...then immediately started crying. No book will ever be as good. A couple days later, I went on a camping/floating trip with my cousins wishing that I could possibly ever find someone like Christian Grey...and then our raft collided with a kayak and I met William...who is now in possession of all 3 of my books, and has already finished number 1.

For now I'll be just sitting here, biting my lip in anticipation...
