Diet donuts...an oxymoron

I found a recipe for homemade baked donuts in a magazine last month. I love cake donuts, so I decided to try it out. I got all the various ingredients together and went searching for donut pans. I went to Old Time Pottery because they have everything!...except donut pans. The cashier did recommend that I go to Toot's which is right around the corner from my house. I knew I had seens the sign before, but never knew what the store was. I drove past it and had to turn around because it looks like a brick house. This place had every kind of cake pan you could imagine, and molds for making candy. I found 2 donut pans in a strange in-between, medium size...but they'll do. First batch was vanilla...

Next was chocolate of course...

Then came the fun part...icing!!!
And some details...

All the varities...
Sprinkles that wouldn't stick...
Don't let this pictures fool you...these donuts were disgusting. No flavor whatsoever...tasted like cardboard. That's what happens when you make low-fat donuts... I took them to work the next day, and the icing still was wet...only a few were eaten, and if those people don't eat something, you know it's not okay. I found a couple more recipes that I'll try when I get the cardboard taste out of my mouth. And I have a special ingredient to use for the morning of the Susan G. Komen walk, so I need to get a good recipe before then. If you're going to the walk, let me know cause I'll hopefully have some special, edible donuts then we can hop on the Metrolink.
P.S. The font went crazy on this post, it drives me crazy that you have to re-choose your font and color between every pic. This whole thing was supposed to be courier, who knows what it'll look like.
